چکیده
This study evaluated the technical efficiency and irrigation water use of olive farms in Tunisia, using Data Envelopment Analysis. In order to calibrate validate findings, data related area, use, quality, cultivar, input, yield were collected based on interviews from 45 irrigated Kairouan Governorate. The results show that average input-oriented under CRS VRS specifications is 17.2% 36.3%, respectively, indicating sampled could reduce by an 82.8% 63.7% improving performance systems. Also, it was found there are large differences between specifications. Consequently, this indicates a number can enhance overall scale operation. practical terms, provides significant insights for growers regarding importance removing inefficiency. Specifically, they need consider effects soil quality fields improve use.

Effects of irrigation on water use and water use efficiency in two fast growing Eucalyptus plantations
Eucalyptus plantations occupy almost 20 million ha worldwide and exceed 3.7 million ha in Brazil alone. Improved genetics and silviculture have led to as much as a three-fold increase in productivity in Eucalyptus plantations in Brazil and the large land area occupied by these highly productive ecosystems raises concern over their effect on local water supplies. As part of the Brazil Potential ...

Leaf water potential (') and leaf conductance (gl) were measured in the field in 20-year-old olive trees subjected to two treatments of soil water content (dry-farming and drip-irrigation). Differences between treatments of up to 0.35 MPa were observed in predawn , values. At midday, these differences were of up to 0.83 MPa. However, no significant differences between treatments were observed i...
متن کاملWATER USE EFFICIENCY Deficit irrigation in grapevine improves water-use efficiency while controlling vigour and production quality
Grapevine irrigation is becoming an important practice to guarantee wine quality or even plant survival in regions affected by seasonal drought. Nevertheless, irrigation has to be controlled to optimise source to sink balance and avoid excessive vigour. The results we present here in two grapevine varieties (Moscatel and Castelão) during 3 years, indicate that we can decrease the amount of wate...
متن کاملMonitoring Irrigation Consumption Using High Resolution NDVI Image Time Series: Calibration and Validation in the Kairouan Plain (Tunisia)
Water scarcity is one of the main factors limiting agricultural development in semi-arid areas. Remote sensing has long been used as an input for crop water balance monitoring. The increasing availability of high resolution high repetitivity remote sensing (forthcoming Sentinel-2 mission) offers an unprecedented opportunity to improve this monitoring. In this study, regional crop water consumpt...

in order to decrease water consumption in agricultural sector, deficit irrigation has been suggested. for preventing a heavy loss in crop yield, management of water stress is essential. common methods for measuring plant water stress such as stomatal conductance are time-consuming and require specialized labor and a large number of measurement. temperature of leaf or canopy surface can be an in...
